With distant views of Ben Nevis, opposite Glen
Coe, on the shores of Loch Linnhe and at the entrance to Glen
Gour, Ard Daraich is well placed to enjoy all that’s
good about the Western Highlands.
What was once the garage of Constance Spry and then the potting
Shed for Ard Daraich Hill Garden & Nursery is now a self-catering
Garden Studio for all those keen to enjoy this part of the
world. Set within the seven acre hill garden started by “Connie”
and now with a well known collection of Rhododendrons, the
Garden Studio offers self catering comfortable accommodation
for two within easy reach of several Corbetts and only a short
walk to a sandy beach.
The living space is open plan with fitted kitchen and integrated
appliances at one end and a woodburner and sofa at the other.
Two French Doors open onto a small self contained garden with
terrace looking towards the River Gour and on to Ben Nevis.
Upstairs is open plan with king size bed with ensuite bathroom.
Endless supplies of hot water and more views of the garden
and hills beyond.
The Garden Studio has been converted to a high standard of
Eco friendliness. Under floor heating is boosted by a wood
burner with logs from the garden. There is passive ventilation
and thick insulation whist inside there is a drying room with
extra radiator to get those outdoor clothes dry after bad
weather.
A cosy cottage in a beautiful place.
Guests to our Garden Studio are welcome to use the large hill
garden surrounding the house and to enjoy the interesting
plants collected from the temperate world and given to the
Maclarens, both father and sons!
We also have a holiday cottage situated on the banks of the River Rannoch - Riverside is a Victorian worker's cottage set in the heart of the West Highland estate of Ardtornish, click here for further information.
