"The Highlands are famous for hospitality. Ard Daraich is no exception and as an old fashioned highland home we welcome our guests as friends. The house is painted in soft colours and decorated with family portraits and furniture. Some rooms are lined in painted wood, a highland tradition, and the bath is free standing. Everyone comments on the friendly unspoilt atmosphere and with our local knowledge we hope to help you find exciting things to do and see.
There are two principle bedrooms for visitors. Upstairs the larger room had an oak kingsized bed from Norway, views of the garden and a private bathroom with wooden lined walls and a free standing bath. A curtain across the passage makes this your own mini wing!
The second room is on the ground floor, with windows onto the garden, king sized bed and adjoining bathroom with shower.
We have a third room which is a standard double and often used by a party travelling with a single person or child. The bathroom is opposite and shared with the owners. We welcome single people and often let this room at a single supplement which is lower than the double room rate.
Breakfast is served in the dining room where you will be offered as much home made produce as possible. We aim to provide what we can from producers both local and organic. We are happy to serve vegetarian breakfasts and we have a flock of rare breed hens to produce our eggs.
There is a beach to sit on and endless quiet places to go to read or draw. We have all sorts of birds nesting in the garden and our current favourite is a woodpecker and chick who regularly feed at the bird table. So far experience has shown that when people book for a night or two they extend their stay for up to a week.
Rooms are available from £75 for a double room. Single price from £50.
